i)Dev. of Inland Fisheries Aquaculture
a)The scheme is implemented through Fish Farmers Development Agencies (FFDA) in the State. There are 2(two) regional FFDA’s which are functioning in the State. The main objective of this scheme is to promote the intensive fish culture in an integrated manner effectively through the coordination of training, followed by fish farming so as to achieve high rate of fish production and thereby providing additional employment and fish supplies to the people. During 2000-11 an amount of Rs. 98.00 lakhs was sanctioned (Rs. 58.00 lakhs C/Share & Rs. 30.00 lakhs S/Share) for implementation of Paddy-cum-fish culture, construction of new fish pond under Joram Multipurpose Co-operative Society and development of additional 16 ha water area in all districts and procurement of 1 LMV for FFDA-I&II and the execution of work is under progress. During this year (2011-12), it is proposed to develop 71 Ha water area & 100 training have been proposed.

b)Fisheries Training & Extension: For Publication of leaflets and conducting Exhibition /Seminar etc. and procurement of Extension Equipments.Rs.4.00 Lakh State Share against Central Share received amounting Rs.19.62 Lakh during 2008-09 and set-forth target has been achieved during 2010-11. The proposal of Rs. 20.00 lakhs for establishment of 2 (two) awareness centre & trg. and publication have been kept during 2011-12.
ii)National Scheme of Fishermen Welfare : This scheme was introduced in the year 2006-07 under component Housing with the view to provide social security towards the fish farming communities in terms of necessary assistance for provision of shelter for the welfare of Fishermen in the State. The scheme has been operated on 50 :: 50 basis (Central Share & beneficiaries contribution) and recently the Central share has been increased 75%. The State share is being borne by beneficiaries from own resource. The achievement during last 5 (five) years under this scheme construction of 606 nos. of houses has been constructed / renovated covering all 16 districts of the State. During the year 2011-12 a proposal for construction of 640 nos. of fishermen houses / renovation with the amount of Rs. 240.00 lakhs have been proposed.

CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME
a) Strengthening of Database and information Networking in Fisheries Sector (on going)
The ongoing scheme on Strengthening of Database & Geographical Information System has been sanctioned under 100% Grant-in-aid for generation of Fisheries Data Bank & for realistic planning. During the year 2011-12 the financial outlay proposed for Rs. 24.50 lakh for payment of staff salaries & procurement of IT equipments for newly created Dists as per GOI’s guidelines.
b)Schemes under taken under RKVY :
Under RKVY the financial assistance has also received to the tune of Rs. 314.30 lakhs during 2009-10 for taking up Commercial Fish Farm, Magur Culture as well as renovation of govt. fish seed farms. The RKVY aims at achieving 4% annual growth in the Fisheries sector during the XI plan period, by ensuring a holistic development of Agriculture & allied sectors. However, during the last financial year 2010-11 an amount of Rs. 464.27 lakhs have been earmarked for taking up beneficiaries oriented programmes in Fisheries sector. The details of the proposal furnished below :-
In respect of RKVY Stream-II, an amount of Rs. 116.07 lakhs has been sanctioned during 2010-11 for undertaking schemes for improvement & strengthening of 10 nos. of Govt. fish seed farms. The fund has been released to the concerned Dist. Fisheries Dev. Officer and rejuvenation work of the farms is in progress.

The schemes under SPA was implemented since 2008-09. During 2009-10, an amount of Rs. 300.00 lakhs allotted for taking up for development of various infrastructural programmes in the department. Further, during last financial year 2010-11 an amount of Rs. 500.00 lakhs has been recommended by the Planning Commission for release of grant for taking up infrastructure related viable projects in Fisheries sector.
